There was no joy for our Northcote 1st XI, who lost to St Kilda 1st XI on a day to learn from.
The scorecard reads Northcote 1st XI 66 and 132, St Kilda 1st XI 4/305. Mitch Lawson top-scored, making 39 off 106 balls. Jackson Smith provided good support with 35. Our opponents' Luke Destito was the standout with the ball, taking six for 11.
With the ball, Adam Howard did the damage, claiming two for 40 off 10.4 overs. Smith finished with two for 60. Ed Newman posted a terrific hundred for the hosts, finishing on 114 not out. Credit to Thomas Russ, who made a century (101) for our opponents.
