At Princes Park - Turf Oval 1, our Northcote 2nd XI were unable to stop Carlton 2nd XI on a day that didn't go our way.
We made 10/138, while Carlton 2nd XI made 7/139. The best of our opponents' batters was Henry Edwards with 27. Matthew Pearce returned figures of three for 27 off ten overs. Roby Lane also took two for 33.
A classy 61 off 99 balls from Michael Sacchetta was the highlight. Mitch Lawson chipped in with 37. Aaron Smillie was the main threat for the hosts, taking four for 12.
There were some quality individual efforts to build on.
Back to the nets, and on to the next one.
