It was a day to regroup for our Northcote 3rd XI, who were unable to stop Melbourne University 3rd XI on a day to learn from.
Over the course of the match we totalled 3/114 and 10/92, and Melbourne University 3rd XI 10/101 and 6/235. Ben Pereara top-scored with 48 off 87 balls. Thomas Cuthbert added a useful 30 off 59 balls. Alex Ingpen took a seven-wicket haul for our opponents, finishing with seven for 41.
Zac Mills bowled well for a five-wicket haul, five for 34 off thirteen overs. The visitors' best was a half-century from Hugo Bienvenu, who made 67.
We'll take the lessons from this one and go again.
Chins up, everyone.
